Welcome
I search the worlds within, the worlds within another world: The Otherworld, The Underworld and further still beyond. I search the realms and strange dimensions, the mists and the lakes some beyond reach. Spinning all the while Magick and dreams, of love and other lives, of sorrow and despair, of laughter floating; unseen, often felt and shared between tears and oceans, the hollow hills spirals of the fae where elfin folk and creatures spin their web of songs and tales of truths beyond, above, below, alongside this world of humans where worlds exist and collide to merge the mysteries of place and time.

Faerie, Elfin, Elven is usually thought to describe the small beautiful winged beings of C18/C19 literature. Faerie actually refers to all the beings and to the realm which they inhabit also known as the Otherworld. Some of these beings are tall and beautiful in appearance such as the elves of the Norse traditions and the Sidhe thought to have evolved from the Tuatha De Daan also known as people of the goddess Dana. However, there are beings of all shapes and sizes who dwell in the realm of the otherworld, some of which are far less attractive in both physical appearance and character. Many are able to shapeshift, make themselves invisible and use glamour.
Our ancestors were fully aware of the duality of the elfin folk and knew that although some could be helpful if treated with respect, others could be far more dangerous. However, all were capable of mischief and powerful magick which could be used for both good and bad.
There is mythology and folklore from all around the world of nature beings and tales of magick , of guardians of forests, lakes, sacred places, homes and gardens. These days there are many who believe the elfin are beings of imagination and the stories only suitable only for children yet believe in the spirits of nature and other supernatural beings! These beings all belong to the otherworld of elfin/ faerie and can if treated with respect be our guardians and helpers in our day to day lives.
The Elementals are the beings of nature and each belong to one of the elements as the name suggests. The sylphs of the air are believed to be able to shapeshift into human form but can vary in size from larger beings to tiny insect size. They can be volatile by nature and brew up a storm in an instant if they choose to!
The winged sylphs are quick with fluid movement and are messengers from other realms.
The Undines and the mer-people are elementals of water which also includes the selkies , the seal people of the Orkney and Faeroe Isles thought to be the finn folk of the old Norse legends. They are associated with feelings and emotions.
The Salamanders beings of the fire element who inhabit every spark and flame and are associated with creativity passion and implusiveness.
The earth elementals are the brownies, pixies, gnomes, trolls and dwarves to name but a few. Of course not forgetting the goblins and boggarts !
Many elementals are able to blend with their surroundings so that they are almost invisible, however, they will occasionally show themselves but are able to disappear in the blink of an eye. The elementals are also the guardians of the animals and plants so are able to communicate directly with them. Their magick is usually directed at the natural world but it is important to always respect nature and the guardians of nature as their natural magick can be very powerful and to anger them would be unwise!
When you are open to the existence of the elfin and have a desire to connect you may not realize it but you may have encountered them already on some level. Often as with all supernatural beings you get a feeling or change in the air, you may have seen flashes of movement from the corner of your eye or shadowy faces in plants and trees. Flickering lights, soft music or even tinkling of bells coming from an unexplaineed source
If you would like to connect with the elementals choose an in between time they are known to like times and places of in between such as twilight, dawn or midnight. In between places such as stairwells, gateways, streams and the sea shore are a few of the places favoured by elfin folk. Be respectful, be open and use all your senses to see, hear and feel the elfin and be sure to leave a gift such as a little honey, cream or wine!
